*MS sheds* are structures where the entire frame and often the cladding are made from Mild Steel. “MS” = Mild Steel. They’re the most common type of industrial/commercial shed in India.
*Key features:*
- *Structure*: Fabricated MS pipes, angles, channels, or I-beams welded/bolted to form trusses or PEB frames. Columns, rafters, and purlins all in MS.
- *Roof & walls*: Usually GI, galvalume, or color-coated corrugated sheets fixed to MS purlins. Side walls can be brick, MS sheet, or kept open.
- *Types*: Industrial sheds, warehouse sheds, parking sheds, workshop sheds, farm sheds, school halls.
- *Benefits*:
- *Strong*: Handles heavy loads, high wind zones, and large spans. Can support cranes, mezzanines, solar panels.
- *Customizable*: Any size, height, or shape. Easy to modify or expand later.
- *Fast build*: Fabricated off-site, then erected quickly with nut-bolts or welding.
- *Cost-effective*: Cheaper than RCC for large spans. Scrap value at end of life.
